The Wedding Lull

I think we've reached a point in planning, now that we're about 17 months out, where we've done all we can for the moment. At least from an event perspective; my hunt for accessories never really seems to end. I relish it!

In the meantime we've been busy with other fun activities. We've booked a trip to Portland, Maine for August. We'll fly in to Portland, pick up our rental car and breeze up for an hour on beautiful Maine roads to spend half the week with Will's family in a lakeside cabin. Then we'll drive back down to Portland for a few more days of eating and touring. This will be the first week-long vacation we've been able to take together, as St Michael's used to take up a solid week of our time and we could never seem to swing another one. We're both ecstatic about the prospect of spending a week on nothing but leisure. How glorious it sounds!

We've also planned to visit San Miguel and Guanajuato to do some wedding research this November. The picture above portrays one of the sleepier streets of San Miguel. I can't wait to stroll down those streets, eat Hidalgo's famous ice cream (in flavors like avocado and tequila!), explore the cultural haven of Guanajuato and, most of all, traipse through the hacienda where we'll be married. So much to look forward to!
